Embellished Paper Beads

Now that I don't feel pressured to finish pieces for the Art Fair I can putter with some small things and experiment.  I'm really getting into these paper beads.

These are about 1-1/4", embellished with copper wire and beads.   I bought a tub of recycled glass beads,  so whatever I find in the bottom that is color appropriate I use.

Hemp and copper are wrapped around these beads then finished with a couple coats of Gel Gloss.  I found a roll of 3/8" self sticking copper at Craft Warehouse that has been interesting to use.  It's very thin so a little fragile.

I plan to use all of these in a collage later on, so I figured 3 of each was a good minimum number to work with.

These little pale blue beads are wrapped with blue lace and silver wire.

I've been using a small paint brush handle to wrap the beads around then glue and gloss.  I can lay the brush across an empty tub so the bead can dry  without sticking to something.

Hope you enjoyed seeing my latest endeavour.   Thanks for visiting.

Back soon.

Well, it's been too long since I've been here and had to catch up on your latest art adventures. Those beads make me smile. I love the way you experimented with them, going from Mod Podge to glossy gel medium, tissue paper to wire. What a great way to have fun, make the same thing, but never get bored. I love them all, and I bet they will look good with anything you make.

wow - I was just over in my studio and pulled out all my bead stuff and set it up on the table - it's been awhile since I've made any beady things.....then I pop over here and you're making these great paper beads, very inspirational!
