Creating Again

I think I got a little of my mojoe back.  Finally finished the Asian themed collage I started several weeks ago.  Yesterday I got an idea and sat down with some of my wool scraps and some buttons.   Several coats of gel medium later, finished.
Compassion, 11" x 14" on Mat Board

I also wanted to try a piece with more layers then I usually do.  I really enjoy working with the 8" x 8" canvases with the deeper sides.  When finished you have a stand alone piece, it doesn't have to hang on a wall but can sit on a shelf.   I like how each layers mutes the last.  I also tried for the first time mixing a little paint with the gel medium to get a more transparent effect.  I'm excited to try it again.  I bought a more porous roller that leaves a more uneven effect.  No buttons on this one.  Some handmade papers, tissue, printed Chinese alphabet and a little embellishments.

Hi Cynthia
I love your canvas - really nice colours. I agree with you re the deeper sides, and I tend to paint the sides as well.

I love this piece. The colors, the size, the feeling it evokes. :) Great work.

I love both collages, especially the second one. Also love the idea of sitting it on a shelf. Beautiful!!!
