I missed WOYWW this week, it's Thrusday already. Anyway I think it's Thursday, having Monday off has just messed up the week. But hey, what can I say. The four day weekend was well worth the messed up week.
I have been working on my postcards for Hanna's Postcard Swap. So before I mail my 10 off I thought I'd show you all what I've been doing.
Here's my work desk.
These are 3 of the postcards I've been working on. They are all very different techniques. The one on the left is a fabric collage on a watercolor postcard. The 2 on the right are some of my play with water soluble crayons, with some embellishments. The postcard with the leaf in the upper photo is not finished, I haven't decided yet where to place the leaf and what extra touches to add. I might add some writing, I just haven't got the right feel for it yet. I need to finish up quickly, besides the leaf one I still have one more to do then they will be ready to mail off. I received my list to mail to yesterday, it's so exciting to think your art is traveling around the world. I can't wait till I start receiving postcards in the mail.
The first time I ever sold my crafts was Christmas several years ago. I made 12 dozen soft sculpture grannie magnets. I sold them to an Oregon store that had 6 locations in malls and at the Portland Airport. So I imagained my grannies traveling to homes all over the world. It was kinda cool to think that someone liked my craft enough to buy it and take it home. They sold out. I don't care if I ever see another soft sculpture project. Assembly line crafts ceases to be fun after the first dozen.
