A Creative Weekend

Lots of time this last weekend to work on several project.  I started out playing with some wood fiber I found with the handmade papers at Art Media in Portland.  They always have drawers full of different papers.  I love going thru them all.

I had such fun playing with the wood fiber that I thought I'd try something a little larger.  These are all woven with the wood, ribbon, fake fur and feathers.   They are arranged on poster board, the dark green is actually a suede finish, the other is a linen weave.
11" x 14"

8" x 10"

I used some burlap strings, an old piece of measuring tape and a piece of embossed tin.  I still have some chicken wire I want to try working into a collage.  With collage anything goes.

The original cards are for sale at my Shop along with a couple others, just click on "My Shop" tab.    They are 5 x 6 with blank inside and an envelope.

Love it when I have that much time to play.  Don't have a weekend like this to often this time of year.  Next weekend a wedding and the next a trade show for work.  Weekends in summer fill up so quickly.   We've been short on sunny weekends this year still no days over 90.   I'm not complaining I feel fortunate we have not had the temperatures that the south has had.  Everything is still green here in the northwest and it's mid August.

Have a great day.  Thanks for visiting.

This looks amazing! What a creative approach to multimedia art! I want to try it too, although I'm guessing it is quite challenging, and you are making it look easy by doing it so well!
