Holiday Weekend Update

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving Holiday.  We all traveled to my daughters house on the coast.  Both daughters and all the grand kids.  Ate and drank far to much, it always seems like we plan so much food for our stay that we don't have time to eat it all.  Since we all had a four day weekend we got to play a little.

The weather was even accommodating Friday and Saturday.  We attended the Rockaway Beach Christmas Tree lighting ceremony, hung our home made ornaments that we made earlier in the day, and sang Christmas Caroles. We got to go crabbing off the pier in Garibaldi, got one, and Saturday was warm enough the boys went skim-boarding.  Burrrrr!!! far to cold for me.  But at their ages they don't feel the cold.  We stood with our coats on and hoods up watching.

I just opened a new journal for my doodles, twice the size I had been using.  It's a little intimidating at first, but challenging.  I'm using a new pen, Tombow ABT dual tip.  The tip I'm trying is the brush tip, very fine point but brush like.  Kinda cool.

I hadn't thought much about my doodles, as far as, do they look like something, do they mean something, and forget about titles.  I've only titled a small handful.  I was looking at one of the new larger doodles and realized they are my play, I seem to always start with a main line or shape, some control,  then I let loose.  It's just what comes from my muddled mind.  All my lines, dots, and swirls represent running and jumping,  swinging and dreaming.  It's my escape to foreign places.  See the castles,  some are dragon like, crowns, sometimes a jesters hat, circus tents.  Can you see the legs trying to run off with the whole menagerie?

I'm thinking about posting a doodle a day starting the first of the year.  I'm not good at keeping focus on goals, or resolutions but I think I'm going to try this.  I miss very few days of doodling now so the only difference is posting them.

Hope your week is off to a good start.  Black Friday and Cyber Monday have passed, so now on to serious shopping.

Thanks for visiting.

Hugs

Sounds like such a wonderful weekend! And I love your doodles - my son is a doodler, too. It's a fine art! I'll send you a pic of the desk he decorated one of these days.

Your Thanksgiving holiday sounds wonderful. I think everyone ate too much on Thanksgiving! I know I did.

Fantastic doodle! A doodle a day shouldn't be too bad because some days you could just do a tiny one if you don't have a lot of time. I do see the legs trying to run off with everything!

Love these doodles, they are elaborate for a daily but I totally think you should do it daily if you can. It's rewarding!
