Framed Mini Doodle

I'm still here, just busy getting ready for the coming shows.  I'm getting into the expensive part now, framing.  Even on sale the cost counts up fast.   I'm using as many standard size frames as I can.  Then buying ready cut matting or having it cut.

Here's one of my mini doodles I had a special mat cut for a ready made frame.  I think I like it.  I'm waiting for another to come back from the framers.   This is a 10 x 10 frame with not quite a 2 inch cut for the doodle.   I like the way it came out.  I think I'll do others this way.
I'm doing one gallery show, shared with one other artist so I need quite a few framed originals for hanging.  Two of the art fairs require a higher percentage of original art to reproductions.  The third one will take either.  So need to make sure I have a good balance.  I got a tent of my own finally, now I want some grid panels to hang the framed pieces.  Oh and a table cloth.  I sure hope I sell lots,  so far the money's just going out.

I bought a blank apron to try doodling on, and some contrast fabric for trim.  Hope to get into that this next weekend.  If it works I will buy a few more.  I think it's less expensive then having them printed.  But time is becoming an issue so free time may outweigh the extra cost.   I'm also getting some pricing on printing my doodle on a tote bag.   The usual places online end up pretty spendy for reselling.   I'd have to charge to much so I'm checking with a local shop that does promotional products.

Right now my day job is getting in the way of my side job.

Sorry I haven't been around to visit much lately.  I miss seeing what everyone is doing.  Hopefully I'll have a chance in the next few days.

Thanks for visiting.

Cyndee, the framed piece looks fantastic. All the black really makes the doodle stand out.

Good luck with the upcoming show.

That's absolutely great, Cyndee. The mini-doodle is fantastic, too. I mounted my zentangle art prints in black mounts and they looked great - the black really sets off the design. I didn't frame them but had them as mounted prints - unfortunately I didn't sell any.

Good tip about the local printers. Unfortuantely I can't get out and about on my own and depend on my hubby, so I do everything I can online these days. I'm going to do some more research. Although the coasters came out fantastic, I was disappointed they were not boxed - I'm going to tell them that, because it's a pain having to make a box each time!
